"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's
Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player."

I cannot successfully get Flash Player to work on my computer. I have tried
everything I can to get it to work but it wont. I have turned off Norton
Internet Security and Internet Options internet security. I've allowed this to
be a trusted site in every part of my computers settings. I have turned off my
pop-up blockers. And I have uninstalled the old version with the uninstaller.

But, when I get to the installer page I get either the Internet Pop-up bar
saying "Cannot allow installation of ActiveX Control that may harm your
computer", if I click on that bar I get no option to allow it to install
anyways. Or it lets me install it and it says "Flash Player Successfully
Installed" but then I return to Youtube only to see "Hello, you either have
JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest
Flash player." And I know I have Javascript on and installed correctly and I
have turned on every single allow of activeX to be on.

I have been doing these things countless times for weeks now and it wont work.

Welcome to the club. You'd think Adobe would be aware of all these issues and
making some kind of effort to get their player working properly for the
countless masses who are getting pissed off and frustrated at this company.
They never answer emails to support (if you can get THAT to work) and their
company is looking more and more feeble and pathetic as the days go by.
No word from them at all addressing all of these install issues.
Hard to believe this is a major worldwide software company.

This has been THE most frustrating experience I've ever encountered. I wish I
had left well enough alone and just deleted those videos at YouTube which
wouldn't play because I had "the old version". I really wish Adobe would do
something or YouTube would use something that works....like Media Player!
Trying to download this flash player SUX. I have tried 15 times now, so I guess
YouTube will have to survive without me.

I too have tried all support options to no avail. I unfortunately, uninstalled
latest version to try to solve another issue and now cannot reinstall. I have
proper permissions, no problem allowing active-x controls. Removed and
re-installed IE-7 as their knowledge based support recommends, and even down
loaded a zip version of the active-x control. (also recommended on adobe site)
says it is not the latest version (says flash player 9) will not allow it to
install. an error message pops-up. All I get from download site is
"installation failed" re-try option keeps taking me in same circle. I want to
scream. Can't view any news videos, etc.

I guess I am not Alone. I have been working on downloading flash player for a
couple months. I have been through forums, websites, etc. You name it I've done
it. I think I may have a problem with my registry editor. I followed some
directions in one of those places and compared my Advanced list in the
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT area and it had nothing in it. So I assume that is causing
the problem but have no idea what to do about it. They had re RUN "regedit"
and go from there. Do you know anything about that. I really have spent a
ridiculous amount of time on this. SOMEONE HELP! PLEASE
