macromedia players flash: I've just invested a reasonable sum in speakers and a recording interface. Now,
everything sounds brilliant, except for flash. For some reason, flash is
defaulting to use the "built in-audio" on my iMac G5 (running the latest
version of Tiger) rather than my external soundcard as it should. This happens
in both Safari and Camino.

I've looked in the flash settings, but this only gives you options for
changing the input for things that use the mic, which has no effect on the
output.

It's annoying that I have this great sound for stuff I'm listening to in
iTunes, and then switching over to a YouTube video and it's coming out of
rubbishy tinny things.

Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same experience as the post quoted here. I'm accustomed to
hearing the CD-quality of iTunes through my Apple Design speakers (connected to
a PowerMac G4).

When I listen to Pandora.com or any other music sites through Safari, the
sound is flat. If I could tweak the sound using an equalizer like I do in
iTunes, the experience for all flash audio via Safari could be optimized.

Is there a way to employ an equalizer with Flash Player or Safari? Is there a
plan to add an equalizer to Flash Player? That seems like a silly question, but
look at all of the music and sound demand, particularly on small devices where
having the ability to adjust the output in Flash Player could really add to the
user experience.

Is this a question for Flash developers or Adobe? Do Adobe developers read
these posts?

I'd appreciate you adding your thoughts. Thanks in advance to those who may
know a solution. Thanks to the original poster for bringing it up.

I'd like to add my two cents' worth here by asking if anyone knows of a way to
send the Flash Player output to an Apple AirPort Express. I'm able to listen to
iTunes through my large home audio system and would love to be able to go to
sites like Wolfgang's Vault and listen to concert recordings on a better
quality sound system.

Thanks!

I received this from the CTO at Pandora.com:
"...use Audio Hijack to grab the audio from the browser, run it through an
equalizer, and pump it back out."

Check out http://www.rogueamoeba.com/

I'm using Audio HiJack set to hijack Safari while Pandora is playing (Flash
app) at Pandora.com. Within Audio HiJack, I've selected the 'Inspector' for the
Safari session and dialed in my preferred equalizer settings under the
'Effects' tab. There are presets there, too. The 'loudness' preset works great
right out of the shoot.

It costs $16 for a license, but it'll work for 10 minutes each time you reset
the hijack function if you're cheap like me!

Good luck...
