Y'see, youtube needs flash player to work, so i downloaded it, restarted my
computer, went to youtube, tried to watch a video, but it still told me that it
needed to be downloaded, so i went to see if i actually downloaded it, and i
did, so why isn't it working? i've tried re-installing it, updating java,
deleting some unneeded programs. but it still won't work, how do i fix this?

I have this problem also - at least my husband does. Everytime he tries to
watch a video on youtube , he gets the "Hello, you either have JavaScript
turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player". Youtube works fine
for me. Windows XP-Home, IE 6. , Flash9. Both of our logins have administrator
rights.I've compared our IE6 addon configurations and they seem to match. I
tried all the install/unistall and IE addons configurations instructions I can
find and nothing seems to fix the problem. I can only install flash correctly
under my logon. His logon will not install flash correctly. I hesitate to mess
around with the windows registry unless I know exactly what to do.

Please help my husband watch youtube.

I'm bumping this to the top of this list to try to get a reply. Can anyone help
us? I'm pretty sure my computer has a registry problem which I'm hesitate to
mess with unless I get specific instructions.

I have a similar problem when attempting to use flash with mozilla fireox2. I
have tried the uninstall/reinstall idea still no good, keeps crashing out with
message stating"shockwave problemsetc switch off mozilla firefox". I do NOT get
this situation when using IE7. Cant understand why two big boys such as adobe
and mozilla cannot get together and solve this frankly ridiculous situation.
Firefox even puts adobe flash (is there any other) forward as a pug in!! Anone
got any suggestions for curing this once and for all? PLEASE.

It WORKS! I used the standalone installer johndiablo had in his thread titled
"How I finally got Flash9 working and can use youtube" I unistalled using the
downloadable adobe flash installer, went to the website he has a link for,
downloaded the installer and then installed it. Flash now works. Good Luck to
everyone. (I would have put the link here except I don't know how)
