Trying to install Flash Player for IE7, I encounter the following:
the install window appears but when I press install, nothing happens. Could someone advice?

I am having the exact same problem. I have Windows XP. Every time I boot it
up I get a message saying I need an update and that page automatically opens.
I click to update to 9 and I get nothing, just like you.......

Try this, it may solve the problem. I have just upgraded to vista and when I
tried to install flash player nothing happend, then
I went to vista's discussion forum and found this.

"go to http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

and then click on Download the Windows Flash Player 9 ActiveX control
content debugger (for IE) (EXE, 1.18 MB)

It worked for me !

:sad;

I tried your suggestion, but when I try to download the flash player I only get the tech note message from Adobe saying they don't support a 64-bit system.
