I can't get either shockwave or flash to install in IE7.

I'm using XP Pro SP2 with latest patch level. I'm also using both IE7 and
Firefox 2.0.0.5 and java 6 update 2 runtime. Both flash and shocwave work
correctly in firefox, but neither works in IE7. My HK Classes Root has proper
permissions, there's nothing in the Event Viewer

hI,
I have found the solution.
1- Select control panel of your computer
2- Select users account
3- Select desactivate the control of the accounts user.

Hi, I've got the same problem. Every time I tried to install the flash player,
I was shown the installation animation which will go on forever and have
nothing installed! I have enabled all active X options in IE and even turned
off my anti virus and firewall during the installation but those didn't help
either. Anyone knows what is going on? Anyway, I am too using Win XP Pro SP2
with IE 7. Any help is greatly appreciated

I had the same problem of flash player installing with Modzilla but not with
IE. I tried the recommendation to turn off account controller. It worked!
After installation I turned account controller back on and it still works.
Thanks.

Well, are there any alternatives for this problem? The 'turning off account'
solution don't really work for me as:
1. It is for Windows Vista, not XP;
2. i have only a single account, which is the adminstrator account. So as you
can see, there's no other account for me to turn off.
