I have Win XP Pro 64 SP2 running on an AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 4200, 2 GB RAM. Flash worked fine on this computer until I installed CS3 Master Collection. Flash player stoped working. I have removed the program using the control pannel and the Adobe Provided utility. I rolled back to IE 6 thinking that was the problem. It's not, what I have found is when I run the installer, doesn't matter which version I have tried 8 and all version of 9, the installer acts as if it is unpacking the files but never actually does. In the folder c:\WINDOWS\system32\ there is no Macromed Directory. When I try to use the web install for flash player 9, it goes into an endless loop. I have another CPU that Flash is working fine on and I copied the C:\WINDOWS\System32\Macromed\Flash directory onto this computer. Did not fix the problem... I look at the add-ons in Ie and Flash Player is not listed??? Has anyone delt with this issue before, I did browse the forums and didn't find this exact issue. Thank you, Robb G
Try the EXE installer from this technote:
Downloaded the ZIP, extracted the file and ran the EXE. It went through the motions as if it was doing something, go check the C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash Directory and there is nothing there.
