we having problems with passive port ranges on an IIS v5 server running
under Windows 2000 Server (SP4) ...
The system has two network cards (one for LAN and one for WAN access) and
uses a firewall with an open port range for incoming FTP data connections

Hi,
When I log into my web server using FTP I get taken to the directory with
the same name as my username which is fine, but then if I know the username
and so the folder name for someone else I can move to that directory without
a password. What can I do?

I configured ftp on win 2k3 server enterprise stand alone running on Verizon
dsl 1.5/384. Went to my other pc (non-networked) running xp pro on Comcast
3.0/256 and uploaded a 12.4mb application file using ie explorer. It took 16

Hi,
I set up two or more of IIS ftp server at my home network by using
different listening port. I can tell people with IE using the URL
ftp://ftp.freefree.net to access the default port 21 ftp server but did not

I need to set up the ftp server so that it can ONLY be logged into
from the same machine (127.0.0.1). The directory security tab of the
property sheets allows me specifiy IP addresses for access. If I set
all default to denied and put in 127.0.0.1 for a permitted IP address,

FTP works from a command Window, but not from GUI

Hi,
The only way I can log onto my Windows Server 2003 (Workgroup) FTP is from a
command prompt. If I try to use IE or a third party FTP tool, I get errors
stating that the server has been reset. Has anyone else seen this?

been set up so that anonymous FTP users have write access only, this

I recently eliminated the use of dedicated IPs by using host headers on my
webserver to host multiple domains. After I was all done, I realized that
FTP no longer worked since each domain relied on its own IP address.
