I have an ftp server running under iis in windows 2000. I want to allow
individual users (not admins) to log in and upload/download to personal
directories. How do I do this. I can't find anywhere in the configuration
that allows this.

What happens if you try? Have you looked at:

HOW TO: Set Up an FTP Server in Windows 2000

Article 300662 is not sufficiant

Have to verify GPO is the user without Admin right can open session localy
have to verify if user can acces trough network
and the last thing Active D. users & Comp open session remotly.

in this case he has no need to be an Administrator

I don't understand what you mean in your last point (Active D users & Comp
open session remotely). There is no such options.

Jack.

Hi Jack
In Active Directory Users & Computer open any users account who should have
access on FTP
then in DIAL-IN Remote access permission (Dial-in or VPN) checked Allow
Acces

All this is in the various properties tabs in Active Directory Users &
Computers?
I've been having a helluva time with this myself!
In the past, I've never had any problems in NT 4 or Win2k without AD.

make sure user has logon locally right.

550 error ? make sure user have related NTFS permissions when uploading /
downloading.

It is only problem with NAT (used RRAS in W2000 Server)

Without NAT when I use router to share Internet Connecion everything works
just fine.

that depend, if the machine is in the domain, then you need to configure
domain level policy, if it's a dc then DC policy, if standalone the local
computer management - users and groups.

Err Msg: 530 User <Username> Cannot Log In. Login Failed.
