Never allow the anonymous user account write access to your FTP
server. Think about it...... do you really want *anyone* in the world
to be able to put files onto your server ?

If you don't remove this permissions asap you may well find your
server is 'tagged' and suddenly contains all manner of unsavoury
material.

In the FTP site properties, how many connections have you been limited to?

What is the "Connection Timeout" set to?

What happens when you click the "Current Sessions" button - does it show
any active sessions?

Since you've indicated in another message that you have opened the machine
up to read and write anonymous access, it's possible that any time you're
online, most of your available connections are taken up by people using
your machine to swap illicit files with their friends on the Internet.
Check very carefully the contents of your FTP root.

Or it may be that your users aren't disconnecting properly, and are leaving
themselves logged in. Without a reasonably short connection time-out (the
default at installation is 900 seconds - that's fifteen minutes), those
dead connections will be eating up your available connection space. This
happens particularly often with web browsers, and with dial-up users.
