iis ftp:
Is it possible to set up user accounts with passwords on IIS that are
separate from the accounts for my computer? From what I heard (and
correct me if I'm wrong) using accounts with ISS is a very large
security risk since if the unencrypted info is sniffed out, my entire
system could be compromised, let alone my FTP. Is this true? Is it
possible to have accounts for individual users that, if the data was
intercepted, the most one could do is access these folders that I
wanted to be password protected. The information I want to protect is
not extremely sensitive, I simply want to be able to read and write
files to my FTP without have anonymous read and write allowed. I heard
third party software such as u-serve is capable of this, Is ISS?

Not really. The FTP account has to have access on the local system,
though you could use a domain account that isn't local. You'd still
have to have access though.

Not really. But if you're concerned, use a FTP server and client that
supports secure FTP. Such as WFTPD.

Sure. That's what file/folder permissions in Windows are for.

It's ServeU and IIS. And yes.

You can secure the connection with VPN or IPsec, read
