iis ftp : FTP client gets Connection Reset By Peer Error from server

Hi there,

I have an FTP client writter in Java and it connects to an
FTP server (IIS FTP) and retrieves data for a PDA. The
program works fine. The funny thing is after the server
runs for about 20 days or so, when i try to use the PDA to
connect to the server, the connection goes through but
after a minute or so, it cuts off with the
message "connection reset by peer". When i restart the FTP
server, the problem disappears.

It looks like something is clogging up the service over
time. Does anyone know of a solution or has faced a
similiar problem?

I've never heard of anything 'clogging up' the IIS FTP service so if
you can provide any evidence to back this claim up, say an entry from
your FTP server's log files, for instance, then it would make
interesting reading.

It's possible that some other component is getting "clogged up", though.

I would try and find someone who can run a network monitor at various
points on your network, and see exactly which peer is resetting the
connection.
