What do you expect to see at the "FTP Site"? Since you say you did
everything by the book, I have to assume your FTP is correctly
configured and working. My assumption then is that what you're doing
wrong is expecting something that isn't there.

Of course, with no details, that's as good a guess as any. You'd
probably get a better answer if you had a look at the FTP logs, or
used the command line FTP client and reported any errors and the
response codes.
