setting up IIS accounts? boe

iis ftp:
I set up an ftp site on a Windows 2000 box. I went into IIS to create an
account under that FTP site. The second tab for security accounts under IIS
manager for that site has the allow anonymous at the top checked.
The user is IUSR_server...
and the password is set to temppass
Nothing else is checked but the Administrator is set to be the operator of
that site.

I don't seem to be able to figure out how I'm supposed to set up
accounts/passwords. The only way I can get accounts to work is by logging
in as temppass with the password temppass. If I change (on the server) the
user to usertemp but set the password to passtemp, it won't work.with those
credentials on the FTP client

I appreciate it but I'm still doing something wrong. I'm a newbie at this
obviously.

If I uncheck the anonymous box, they can't logon using ftptemp and password
ftptemp. I tried using anonymouse as a userid and password at the FTP
client and that doesn't work.

Thanks - I didn't know that mattered.

Wrong place. You want to set up *Windows* users. All you're doing is
changing the account used by IIS, which will pretty much break it.

If you don't know how to set up Windows users, refer to your Help
files.

The anonymous account is meant for anonymous access.
if you don't need it, you can uncheck it, to create your
own user and allow ftp access, refer
