FTP login problem RossH

iis ftp:
I have an iis server using active directory for authentication.

I have a user called testme who's directory is set as
d:\inetpub\wwwroot\testme

His site is testme.com and the home directory is set to the same as
testme's home directory.

testme has full control on that folder. Yet the user testme still can't
login to that folder

530 User testme cannot log in, home directory inaccessible.

Any ideas?

What IIS version you are running?
IIS 6 with AD isolation?

You can also get filemon and see why the access been denied.

Now, did you configure the following ?
Setting Active Directory User Isolation Using Iisftp.vbs (IIS 6.0)
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/12a3d96c-65ea-4210-96ad-86a801f6a88c.mspx

Hi Ross,

I had the same problem which I posted on 11-12-05 "error connecting due to
localuser". Running filemon.exe on the server and trying to connect will
show you the same thing I found which is the system trying to point the user
to a nonexistant directory called "localuser" which is added on. I've tried
to get it to stop and the only way I've found so far is to create all my FTP
directories in IIS, then creating a folder called "localuser" and moving all
the directories inside that folder..

I tried it by moving them into the "localuser" directory, then creating the
IIS directories, but then the server would add on another "localuser"
directory when connecting them.

Therefore, since I don't have much more time to deal with this issue I must
do it the "Mickey Mouse" way and live with it.

Hope something comes up for you.

Dre,

Ross is using AD isolation where you are using standard local user database
isolation.
He doesn't need localuser folder.
