Hello wise Guys

I have a server which I need to run a FTP service. After installing the IIS
and set up the FTP site I noticed that I can log in using an anonymous
connection but if I try to authenticate the users, after set up the NTFS
security for the FTP folder, the authentication fails. After a lot of tries I
noticed that if the user use his full domain name (PAUL.XX@THISADOMAIN.com)
the validation succeed and the user is loged in.

Any idea about how can I override the full user domain name validation, and
let the users log in using just their network names?

Hello Bernard / Dough

I figured out something that is not a perfect solution but it worked for me.
Instead of using a domain user, I create a user on the server with access to
the FTP folder. Now when the user tries to connect to the FTP server is uses
the local server user and not the domain user.

Merry xmas to you and thanks for your help.

Bernard

I am also trying to do this but with the server on a Home Network and not part of a domain

ie it is in a workgroup called MSHOME can I still use the method outlined above and if so what would I use as the domain
name.

Thank a lot for all your posts they have helped me a lot over the last few days.

Regards Doug

You can configure the default logon domain, refer

In your case, you can configure it to authenticate against local or domain.

Doug,

If you not in a domain, just authenticate with local SAM user database.
