iis ftp:

cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" appear.

I can remove the folder in windows explorer.

I'm using Windows 2003 Server.

I don't think so as I can remove the empty folder in Windows Explorer.

Below please find a log entry for this error.
01:38:38 57.72.66.22 [66]RMD /POS_ForAdvance(Shirley)/Image 550 32

But seems this is normal.

Any other help?

Ok - win32 error msgs 32 is
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another
process.

so IIS FTP just telling you what the OS tell it.

does it only happen to one particular folder or all ?
and no processess is accessing it ? have you try filemon to see if anyone
using it ?

I don't think there any other process is using it.

I had did a simple test to confirm this.
1. Remove the folder from FTP (of coz failed).
2. Right after that, remove the folder from WIndows Explorer (success)

I had just checked again. Seems to me this is problem of my firewall but not
IIS's issue.

I just discovered some interesting thing. The folder still cannot be deleted.

Using filemon, i found that after a FTP user had browse the folder, I find
that IIS is still locking file. I even cannot delete the folder using Windows
Explorer. But after a few minutes, all locks disappear and then I can remove
the folder using Windows Explorer.

Brilliant ! so the firewall was 'preventing' the folder delete ?

This is normal, as IIS is locking it while you access and will only let go
once it reaches the timeout or end of thread.
