W2K Server FTP. Am able to access the ftp via IE, CMD or 3rd party however I
cannot get a directory listing. Same result under Admin or user. I rebuilt
the server to out of the box and all works fine. However once I do the update
Windows and add Service Packs etc then access is blocked.
I have NTFS permissions set to allow Web Access to FTP root and Virtual
folders and DialIn permissions for remote users and all accounts can connect
and get mapped to the proper folders however get ! DoDirList failed 4 under
CMD and 3rd party FTP and in IE with Passive/ On or Off get folder
permissions errors.
Seems it's more to do with W2k than in the ftp config.

More Clues,
In reading thru various posts I got a tip to try and login locally and not
remotely. I opened IE typed ftp://servername and got right in and see the
root files. I did Login As and changed user and went right to the correct
Virtual directory and files were displayed.
I am behind a Linksys Router and forwarding port 21 to the server IP
address. Could this be a port forwarding issuse or something router related ?
Hope this helps

If it's virtual directoy, it is hidden by design.

As for the passive mode connect from remote, you need to open related ports.
