iis ftp: I am trying to get a grip on Windows 2000, firewalls and ftp. My
understanding is the only way ftp will work is the client needs to set their
ftp program (or IE) to passive. This would not make for a very good
application. I also don't see an option for other browsers like Firefox.

Is this the only option? Anyone have a work around?

Is this true with Windows 2003 server?

Thanks,
Steve

I have a nasty feeling there's no simple rule Steve... this page may help
you a bit.

Also I just tested this FTP sync program which so far is working very well
for my purposes, not strictly relevant to your needs right now but maybe
worth remembering. http://www.fileware.com/products.htm
