anyone,

I have ftp setup on windows 2000 advanced server edition.

Any reason why using XP with sp2 has an issue connecting to my ftp? and
Windows 2000Pro doesn't ?

I am getting a permissions error message when I connect with XP SP2.

I have checked all possibilities for a solution but none worked such as
disabling the xp built in firewall, Unchecking "use passive ftp on internet
explorer properties and reseting permissions on the ftproot folder. What
else is there that I can check? are there any turorials or anyone can show me
how to fix this critical microsoft issue?

Firewall?

Using IE? Giving the correct login/password?

It's not a Microsoft issue. Start by checking basic connectivity.
Move on to using the command line FTP client so you can see the
response codes. Check the FTP log on the server to see if the
connection to FTP was refused by FTP or never got there.
