I think there is another step beyond what Miro said if you don't want the
users to see all the other directories available. I can't recall it at the
moment but look up "user isolation" and you may find the kb article that
talks about it. I do it currently and it works great but I set it up years
ago and can't recall how I did it.
If no one else chimes in with the answer I'll find my notes. It wasn't a
huge deal but there was something that you had to do to allow the client to
slide right into his directory

Not true, there are no entries under ftproot so the dir is blank, they are
all virtual. You can go anywhere if you know what the dir names are, (and
have the rights) but they don't list at the top level because there is
nothing there to list.

See:

How To Set Up an FTP Site So That Users Log Onto Their Folders:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;201771

Make the folders virtual folders and you can't see them from root.

Isn't there a script you have to run on win2k server to allow that to
happen? ISTR that you can't leave FTPROOT blank AND have the users
automatically log into thier folders without running this script to set some
reg settings.... Geez I wish I could remember what that was...
