Temporary file in FTP Christian Bassi

iis ftp: I am running IIS 5.0 on DMZ for ftp receiving files , this files after
transmission are stored in a local directory polled from third-party
software . During transmission the file is present on directory while
growing dimension but third-party software consider this file just
closed and get this incomplete file.

There is a way to shadow the file during incoming transmisson or use a
temporary file ?

I find that Biztalk use a method like this for ftp transfer but we
prefer to use IIS on DMZ

Thanks for your help

If I get you correctly, the uploading file is not yet complete, but already
been pick up by the 3rd party software. If in this case, why would you think
a temporary file would help? to store somewhere then copy to the actually
ftp folder, won't it be the same during that file copy process? why not the
3rd party app, detect if the file is still being open or use and don't pick
it up if still in use?

Of coz there's tool to check if the file still open, but that's not the
point, it's the 3rd party software that you are using need to aware of it
and don't pick up the file if it's still open.
