After you created the ftpsite, then try iisftp.vbs to set the directory -
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/66cf2a1d-26f4-47f5-b4ff-af4011cdeffb.mspx

if you have shared directory, then create the virtual directory at the ftp
site level, then control access via NTFS permissions setting.

Hello,

This is what I am trying to do. I am looking to setup a small ftp site
for a few users. I want them to have access to their home directory.

This is a domain environment. So I want to use isolation using active
directory. Users have roaming profiles with folder rediction of my
documents. Home directory is mapped via user settings to the location of
the my documents.

My plan is to have one ftp site that everyone is under. No user should
have access to another user. There are a few mapped resources that
everyone should get access too (I figure user virtual directories) and a
few resources that some get.

IE: Public - everyone can get Few - some get to

Unfortently, when using IIS manager I can't do this. When All things
are created I get an error saying things aren't setup right.

When I look at technet with isolation I get lost and the iisftp.vbs
help isn't better. One place says that it will create fields in the user
setup and in another place it says everything needs to be done via the
iisftp.vbs script.

Can some one point me in the right direction?

Thank you,

TC

Can you explain this error:

Error &H80041064: User credentials cannot be used for local connections

Are these the user credentials of the ftp user or the account that
checks with AD?

Thank you,

TC

Where do you get this error msgs ?

If you using AD isolation, then the users will need DC to authenticate.

I got the error after running iisftp

This is a test machine to help teach myself AD. So everything is sitting
on the same machine.

And you login as domain admin + the users belong to AD ?
from the error msgs, it sounds like it's not a domain account.
