FTP's and the errors I get... kane

iis ftp:
Hello all, I'm running windows xp w/sp2 on my dell pc. I recently
wanted to restart my personal website using free things that require no
money what so ever. I am a customer of Comcast in the New Jersey area
and decided to just use their online file storage for the website. I
did try this a long time ago, pre sp2, and got it to work, but it was
taking too much time and I quit. So now I'm back in the game and am
getting way too many errors.

So here is the first one:
"An error occurred copying a file to the FTP Server. Make sure you
have permission to put files on the server.

Details:
A connection with the server could not be established"

Nice one huh!? I get this when I try copying a folder with some pics
in it from my c: drive to the FTP site. I am using IE and windows
explorer for the drag and drop method from my C: drive to the FTP site.
And then after I ok out of the message, it's like I'm not
connected any more. If I try and go into a folder it says that the
directory does not exist. And by the way, I can log into the FTP site
fine and see everything and go anywhere. I just can't
create/delete/change/or move anything.

And for the second error:
"An error occurred deleting the file or folder on the FTP Server. Make
sure you have permission to access this folder.

Details:
550 Copy of 000_0029.jpg: Forbidden filename"

This one I get when trying to clear out some space and delete
something. So I right-click on it and go into the properties of the
file and it says that I do not have execute privileges. I do have
execute on the folder it is in, just not on the file itself. So I can
get rid of most of the things I want deleted, but a lot are still there
because I do not have access to my own personal FTP space for some
reason.

And for the third one:
"An error occurred creating a new folder on the FTP Server.

Details:
550 New Folder: Forbidden filename"

I get this last one when I right-click in open space on the FTP page
and try to create a new folder.

I called up Comcast and spoke with them live over the net and the first
thing that all of them tell me to do is to empty my temp internet
files, cookies, and offline content that is temp. So not only does
that never work for me, but it kind of seems like it's a cheap way to
say that I'm doing something but not really. The only time that
doing that actually worked was when I had a problem with windows
updates a long long time ago. But anyway, Comcast can't seem to fix
it and I've tried looking for some solutions on the net without any
success. I think the main problem is that I do not have the privileges
that I should have. I should have read, write and execute for
everything that I put on there and want to take off. Also, I have to
enable "use passive FTP" under the advanced tab in tools > internet
options. So I don't know if it's my firewall or because I'm
behind a router or what. But I don't think that having a router or
firewall should hinder what I am trying to do.

Any assistance greater than the garbage that Comcast gave me would be
greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
