IIS 6 authentication problem Steve A

iis ftp: Hi all,

Does IIS6 FTP server accepter authentication outside it's default domain if
a user passes the credentials in the form: domain\userID ?

I am receiving an alert in the EventLog:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSFTPSVC
Event Category: None
Event ID: 100
Date: 8/31/2005
Time: 11:21:56 AM
User: N/A
Computer: xxxxx
Description:
The server was unable to logon the Windows NT account 'xxx\xxxx' due to the
following error: There are currently no logon servers available to service
the logon request. The data is the error code.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Data:
0000: 1f 05 00 00

However systems with IIS5 work just fine on the same domain, and my DC's all
respond. Additionally the default domain's account authenticate just fine.

The two domains are child and parent relationship and the one that gives me
problems is the parent one. I hope this makes some sense.

Thank you all in advance.

Steve

You mean from parent domain to child domain? what about the other way
around?
from what I understand, IIS FTP support authentication of trusted domain.
