Hi all

i have recently setup FTP with IIS 5.1 in one of my XP pro machine. It seems
like i can only add one user to log in to the site. If I were to implement
this in an office environment than i would rather like to a group than on
user only. So, that every body has their own login.

I have also tried it with windows 2000 professional. It only allows me to
select on user. When i right click on the default FTP site properties and
click on security accounts and click brows it only allows me to choose one
user, even if i have active directory.

Hello Andrew,

The two ways that you can choose a user in the properties dialog that you
are discussing will only set the anonymous user account or FTP site
operators - neither of these settings affect user logons. To configure a
list of users that can access your FTP site, you need to edit the
permissions for the files/folders directly using Windows Explorer. To
address your group scenario, you would create a group (either local group or
in the AD) and then assign that group the requisite permissions. As you
add/remove users to and from that group, the will be allowed or denied
access via FTP.

where do you choose the security account? anonymous access? that's not how
you do it..
