Have SBS2003.
Setup Default ftp
can get to it on LAN with ftp://ip address and brouse
tried to use ftp.exe localhost and it asked for user and password. all
logins denied.
cannot get to ftp using domain name
error says windows cannot access this folder.

When I save some large files in my windows xp sp2 ftp server ( updated!) i
cannot download from any machine, but on localhost I can. The problem is
that I can download this files for 50% or 45% and next then connection hang.

When i send files on my ftp server these files take the system date and they
loose the original date. I have seen that my client try to execute the MDTM
command that havs to change the date of the file and fix it like that on the

I've just created an FTP site with user isolation on my LAN. The folder names
under the root FTP directory as well as the virtual directory names under the
FTP site correspond to the user names. After authenticating from any other

We have encountered problem in IIS6.0 FTP server, after setting up, we
can't access using IE but only SmartFTP, but now don't know why even

I'm using Windows Server 2003 with IIS6.0
I created users and FTP accounts for them through Virtual Directory. My
problem is that the user is not able to see any other folders in the root

A FTP server is being subjected to a massive (5 hours) login attack.
Apparently this is a know exploit attempt. Any ideas on how to stop this?
It appears the attack is from hijacked computers as the IP is allways
different.
It does not do any good to block a IP.

By default it goes to our root ftp which contains a folder for each of our
clients. Clients can only get into the folder they have acces to but we
don't want them to be able to see any of the subfolders. How do we make it
so ftp goes right to their folder or so they can only see their folder.... more >>

Directory Mode". It all worked well except for one aspect - even though the

In IIS Manager (the GUI), you can use UNC names and provide a
username/password to "Connect As". However, the iisftp.vbs doesn't seem to
support this functionality.

This is a physical directiory and a virtual directory.
The name of the physical directory changes but the name of the virtual
directory is the same.

I have configured FTP on a SBS 2003 server. I can access the ftp server
using either anonymous login or domain\username.
Once i've opened the ftp server I can view the contents of the server but I

share 1 IP address. IIS redirects to the correct virtual directory or site
based on the incoming requested host name.
