iis ftp : We have an ftp server with many FTP clients

By default it goes to our root ftp which contains a folder for each of our
clients. Clients can only get into the folder they have acces to but we
don't want them to be able to see any of the subfolders. How do we make it
so ftp goes right to their folder or so they can only see their folder.

Eg. ftp.widget.com login name acme password aglets - using that info it goes
right to the c:\ftproot\acme folder - not c:\ftproot\ with acme, a1, etc all
listed.

Thanks

If you are on IIS 5, try
How To Set Up an FTP Site So That Users Log Onto Their Folders
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=201771

With IIS 6, you can try the Ftp user isolation.

Take note with 5, you will be able to redirect user to their respective home
path, but you can't stop them from cd .. for going back to the ftp root
path. However, you can hide those folders name. using virtual directories -
which is by default hidden.

Instead of ftp root, can I setup user folders under the FTP site's home
directory?

Thanks
Bill

Hi, if you use ftp user isolation the user is automaticaly redirected to the
user folder and this folder is the root folder for the user
