FTP server on DMZ slow to open local user accounts -- iis ftp

Our Win 2k3 FTP server is on our DMZ, only ports 20 and 21 are open
internally and externally. We run it in FTP Isolation mode. When we need to
look at a local user account (via computer management) or reset the password
it will take for ever to open. If the server is put inside the network where
the DC are etc the local user accounts can be opened or reset instantly. I
assume it is trying to do something like search for the domain which it

what isolation mode you using? local domain? or standard or AD?
