iis ftp: Hello all,
I would like to set up ftp for clients to be able to upload files to my
company. I am a little leary of this as I undestand that FTP is just
inherently unsecure. I have looked at requiring an active directory account
to log in but passwords are sent over the wire clear text if I'm not
mistaken. I have read about using certificate based authentication and am
thinking of taking this route. Would this be the safest way to implement FTP?

Not a full detail as it's not IIS specific, basically, via vpn, ipsec, refer
bottom section.

I understand that third-party FTP servers are capable of SSH or SSL
encryption themselves, thus creating SFTP or FTPS servers. Is the FTP server
built into W2K3 not capable of this, thus resulting in the need to use a VPN
or IPSEC? TIA...
