iis ftp: Okee i shall try it in english but i'm not so good at it. So i hope for
the best that you can help me!

On my work we have a ftp server on the windows 2000 server. It has a
wierd problem some people can yous it and some people don't. At my home
pc i testit, it works sometime's than i can login but don't download or
upload sometime it works perfectly and sometime i even don't get a
login screen where i put my username and password. Those problems have
other people to. Some people have never can yous it.
The people that ar yousing the ftp server are not that expreienst so
they only yous there defauld browser like IE e.d.


We have here 2 servers (windows 2000) the ftp server is on the domain
controller on port 21 the firewall is forward to it.


If you need more info i will give it.

Ik kom uit Nederland dus mag ook in het nederlands beantwoord worden.

if sometime you can get the login prompt and sometime not. I would say this
could be network connection issue.
- can you ping your server remotely?
- try connect via ftp.exe (command line utility) and post the output here.

It's looks fine by my to. So i don't get the problem either. But i
still get compleens about it.
But what do you mean by 'do you use domain auth or local system
authentication?'
Here on my job everything goes by the domain there aren't any local
account's only a administrator.
I don't have paswords for the account with the trouble's so i can't
test them.
I have 5 different test account's and they are working for me fine at
home...

But when i let my girlfriend or my sister or a friend test them at
there hom's they sometime's get in it but most of the time they don't.
Very wierd and frustrating....

Looks ok to me. now, can you login using those problematic account that
belong to the domain?
do you use domain auth or local system authentication?

ok. first try login locally at the machine using your girlfriend, etc, does
it works?
if yes, then visit them :) I'm sure you do, then try ftp.exe to connect
again...
what's the msgs you see when you try to login from there ?
