iis ftp: I have just setup a win2k server with IIS as our FTP server. I would like
to know how to make it secure .I need to address all those common security
issues so we can opstfiles that only those intendedfor can grab them.
Where do I start ?

With IIS FTP, you need to bascially take care of 2 things.
- NTFS - this is the file level security you can configure. E.g. which user
can READ or write, etc
- Communication channel - because IIS FTP is plain text mode in a way, you
need to secure the communication channel either via IPSec or vpn.

You can also designate which IP addresses connect to your server. this can be
very helpful if your clients maintain a static IP. This is done by opening
the IIS manager, right click the ftp site, and select the directory security
tab. Here is where you will enter one, or a range of IP addresses.
