hi to all .
i want to setup a FTP site in the 2003 domain network and i want to some
users have access to to a ftp site with their Active Directory Usernames and
Passwords. i have created a ftp site and i choose ISOLATE USERS option and
removed ANONYMOUSE logon check box . in the permisions tab i have added that
accounts which must have full access to the ftp site and finish..
now , when my users type the FTP site address in their Internet Explorer the
login window appears and when users types their username and password they
can't Authenticate with the server.

i have 2 question :
1- when we need to use isolate option , and when we need to use isolate
option with AD.?
2- what i do to my Active Directory users can Authenticate from DC to use a
FTP site.

regards..

1. Try the login with a simple FTP client such as ftp.exe so that you can
see what error messages are passed back from the server.

2. Have you created the users' FTP home directories on the server, and
assigned appropriate NTFS permissions to them?

hi robin .

1 : -
2 : NO , i have not created home directori for my users because i have not
more than 1 FTP site .i have simply created a folder and in the path of the
FTP content i assigned that and i set the NTFS permissions for that folder .
When we use the users home directories to create the FTP site ?
and anouther question , how could i create the secound FTP site ? just with
users' FTP home directories?

(in http sites , we can assign a host header to each site , and we can run
more than 1 http site simultaneusly.)

thnx for your time .

As for your question, why do you want user isolation....
Hosting Multiple FTP Sites with FTP User Isolation (IIS 6.0)
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/b63de8ef-e3c5-456d-a8ca-7af4198819d4.mspx?mfr=true

main diff between standard and AD isolation is that AD you can fully
integrated with the active directory and specific home root folder for users
inside AD schema. Standard isolation limit the home folder to the ftp
servers, while AD isolation allow you to spam across multiple servers, etc.
