iis ftp : XP user can't remove auto-login credentials?

Hi All: Strange problem here. I have MSFTP running on Server 2003 sp1.
Anonymous access is blocked. "Do not isolate users" was used when setting up
the site.

One user on XPpro sp2 claims that they never get a login prompt when they
connect using Internet Explorer. A long time ago they probably checked
"remember password" when prompted for their login credentials.

The user claims that they're tried everything MSft recommends for deleting
stored passwords, including emptying their cache, deleting all cookies,
clearing their history and clearing passwords from their "autocomplete"
settings. Yet, they still connect to the ftp site without seeing a login
screen.

Where else could the login credentials be stored that would allow this? Or
is it related to some other security setting in IE?

Thanks Robin: I will move this to a security group because the issue exists
outside of FTP.

Try asking them to visit the site with a URL of the form:

ftp://username@ftp.site.com/

This should trigger a logon dialog requesting a password.

it is the client that send the login detail, so the issue is at the client
side.
