Hi

I have a XP with SP2 running FTP. The machine is member of our AD Domain.

My problem is that only users which are member of the local Administrators
group can login to the FTP Server.

How can I grant FTP access to a local user on the XP machine?

Give them the Log on Locally right.

By default all users should be able to log on. What error code or
communication are you getting back from the FTP client?

Hi Jeff

Thanks for your answer.

I've created the users on the local machine, and they are member of the
build-in Users group. As fare as I know local users have "Log on Locally"
rights by default... right?

I checked the Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy -> Local
Policies -> User Rights Assignment -> Log on locally policy. And Users is
indeed listed here.

Any other suggestions?

Thomas

Hi

Ok... i found the root of my problem.

I've changed the FTP home directory form c:\inetpub\ftproot to c:\program
files\my program\ftproot, and this folder didn't have the right NTFS
security settings for normal users.

Thanks for helping. Your question Chris helped me on the right track.

/Thomas
