How to Setup an FTP server

I am trying to setup an FTP server on a Windows 2000 server. I can only
login in as anonymous. If I set the login and password to be required, only
the Administrators can login. How do I fix it so you are required to login
in? Also, I would prefer to have the files to be put in a folder on... more >>

I am having trouble with FTP in IIS 6 on server 2003 standard edition.
Here is what is happening:
I can setup users with virtual ftp directories, people can upload and

Hello,
I have an IP leak problem running IIS 6.0 on W2K3 SP1. I have followed
recomendations in KB218180 and configured SetHostName so that my websites do
not return internal IP addresses.
But, my server still returns a private IP in the response to the following

I have IIS6 FTP UserIsolationMode
1) create LocalUser\User0 folder
2) create user 'User0'
3) setup NTFS permission to access by FTP for given user
4) use ftp service...
5) delete User0
6) recreate User0
7) grant NTFS permission again

I have an IIS 6 FTP site. I have A LOT of virtual directories set up,
one for each web site I'm administering. I want user1 to access Site1
and Site2, but not Site3. I want user2 to be able to access Site2 and
Site3, but not Site1.

I've been using Dreamweaver 4 for years now and use it to upload files to my
website, very basic.
Today I've encountered the 550 permission denied problem, I can't figure out
what's the cause.

Am I missing something or is SSL not part of FTP within IIS6 (Win 2003

Also, I heard SSL is possible over FTP when IIS7 is released. Is this true

Windows 2000 (IIS 5.0) and Windows XP. I am setting up my default ftp site
on two machines. One running Win2k the other WinXP. We have an established

We use iis 6.0 (on Windows 2003 Server) for ftp. We have placed some .tif
files on our site and when users attempt to OPEN the files, they get an

I regularly use ftp to transfer file to an ftp server at work
I recently loaded coreftp (because my webspace needs an ftp client with the
extra security features of coreftp ) and unfortunately made it my default
ftp client

I'm getting this when trying to open an ftp session with a w2k3 server.
The ftp server was set to refuse connections to other than a specific
(NATed) IP address (server is in a dmz), but I've switched to 'allow all' .
This is also using the admin account/pswd for the server.

I have Box1 with 2003 & AD on it and Box2 with 2003 & FTP on it. Box1 has
all the data and folders on it. The site is on Box2 and has been joined to
