Hi,

It takes 1-2 minutes to transfer a 50k file from a workstation to the IIS
server.

The interesting thing is that whether it is ftp within the LAN or from the
outside, it takes the same 1-2 minutes for a 50k file.

any idea?

Everything is running Norton.

Norton? does it has realtime scan? I once have in a environment, but
disabling McAfee realtime scan, the transfer time is 1 / 3 with realtime
scan turn on.

1 to 2 mins for 50k within LAN is extremely slow. All in same subnet? have
you ask network admin to check on network health?

No ideas. You might want to capture the network traffic and analyze why it
is slow.

Use network monitor from microsoft or ethereal to capture the packet.
http://www.ethereal.com/

as of how to analyze it, you might want to post it to .networking group.
