iis ftp : Anonymous http but authenticated ftp?

Hi All,

I've been adding Virtual Directories to my ftp server so that I can ftp
content to and from the http server. So, for example, I've added the
virtual ftp directory "Representations" pointing to
"C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Representations". But I seem unable to remove
anonymous ftp access from this virtual directory. If I try to restrict
access so that the anonymous guest cannot read the files or the
directory lists then the http access gets rejected with a security
error too! How do I set up IIS6 so that a directory has (anonymous)
http access, but allows only authenticated ftp access?

Cheers,

Tim.

Mmm... interesting. how do you actually restrict the access?
via NTFS and iusr acc no read access? if yes this would affect HTTP as well.

In this case, I think you need to disable anonymous access for ftp. to
access ftp, you will then need authentication (via ftp) before you can
navigate to the virtual directory
