Sorry, for the previous message written in french.

To specify the defaultlogondomain in IIS, I follow this article :
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310723

with the command :

adsutil set msftpsvc/DefaultLogonDomain "My domain"

I get the error from the script adsutil :
ErrNumber: -2146646000 (0x800CC810)
Error Trying To GET the Object (GetObject Failed): MSFTPSVC

I got the same error with the path MSFPTSVC/1.

I try the command "iisftp /query" on my server :
Connexion au serveur ...Terminé.
Nom du site (Chem. métabase) État IP Port
==============================================================================
Site FTP par défaut (MSFTPSVC/1) DÉMARRÉ Tout 21

It's a windows 2003 server, member of an AD domain.

Any idea ?

Thanks

I have already reinstall the FTP component yesterday, but I still have the
problem.
I'm afraid to disjoin the domain for this server in production, because we
have a lot share folder on this machine with NTFS pemissions based on the
account user's domain.
I'm afraid to loose all these settings and disturb the users.
Have you got any other test to do ?

Thanks.
Kind Reagards
Christophe

Mmm... see this before. it looks like metabase schema issue.
If this machine is part of the domain, try disjoin and rejoin the domain.
or you can try to reinstall the ftp component.

Not really, but can you try to open the metabase via metabase explorer and
see if you can add it there?

you have true about the metabase, this is error I have with MBExplorer.exe :

Failed to connect to the local metabase.
Failed to opne metabase key
Reason : Le chemin d'accès spécifié est introuvable.

I follow in this direction now if I can solve this problem.
Thanks

Christophe

Oh.. can you open the metabase at all?
I mean with metabase explorer..... if minor error, it should attempt to fix
it.

If it can't open at all! :) looks like your metabase is really gone :(

I can see the manual backup "Backup" of the database that I made in
C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\MetaBack.

I can read with NOTEPAD the 2 XML files Backup.MD0 and Backup.SC0.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\MetaBack>dir
23/08/2006 13:21 <REP> .
23/08/2006 13:21 <REP> ..
23/08/2006 13:21 12 586 Backup.MD0
21/08/2006 14:32 263 671 Backup.SC0
2 fichier(s) 276 257 octets

I can't see in this directory any other backup of the metabase.

What can I test or verify ?

Thanks

Christophe

Verify ? I don't know.
You see now - you have issue with the metabase (when you try to set the
property you got error)

so my suggestion is :
a) reinstall ftp component, rejoin domain
b) try to open it via metabase explorer.

so far you had tried a) - it's not working
for b) does it prompt you to fix ? or you can't open at all?

now - if you do have backup..... you can try restore it actually.
do you back it up via IIS MMC or ?
