Hello,

I'm tring to transfer a file from an ftp to another using the passive
protocol. The transfer is managed by a third pc. Ftp servers are in a
network different different than the client, a firewall is in the
middle. I've limited the port range and I'ave opend all this port in
the firewall. The problem is that if I try to execute passive command
from one of the server the transfer is ok, but when I try to execute
the command in the client the transfer abort. The comand that fail is
literal port .... in the second server.

Please help me

Thanks

Ftp servers are in a network, the client is in another. There is a
firewall in the middle but ports are open, if I put the client in the
same network that the server the transfer works, if the client is in a
differen' network doesn't. If I try to use active it works, also if
the client is in another network.

so only passive mode remotely will give you error.
does the port range enough to cater the request? i mean the port range allow
in the firewall?
looks like networking issue to me :)

I'm asking how big is the port range as each request may uses many ports.
so with many connections, does it able to support it ?

I cannot disable the firewall because it's a too big network.
i don't think that is a firewall problema, but there is the problem
because the client is on a third pc. I've already created all the
relative key in the registry

Oh well. how about a quick test and allow all ports access to the server?
what do you mean registry key on the third pc?
