iis ftp: Is there a maximum speed for FTP transmission?

I have an ftp server in my dmz and ftp'ing to it gives me a max of about
400kbps...while copy and paste directly to the drives can go as high as 45
megs...

any help is much appreciated...

Oohh... I don't think there's limit, it would be how the ftp client handling
the connection, say multiple vs 1 or 2 connections.
In my previous test, i can reach 3mb via IE and 800k via ftp.exe
