We are setting up a FTP site on our Windows 2003 server. We have a DSL
router. The server is running active directory, also is the DHCP server.
Question is: IP address on the server is private; can the public address in
the router be forwarded to the FTP server's private IP address?

FTP Connection Timeout
Posted by Alan at 4/18/2007 9:34:52 AM
Hi,
I would like to know is it necessary to set connection timeout in a FTP
server or is it a good practice? Is the default 120sec too low or too high.
Most ftp clients are able to resume up/download once it reached the limit
and will reconnect.

Slow FTP downloads
Posted by CAMC1 at 4/3/2007 10:48:28 AM
Hi
I setup windows 2003 R2 server with IIS with FTP,
even on a LAN, downloads are as slow as downloading over a 56K modem. (using
IE to download)
Is this by design of Microsoft FTP, or is there a way to define speed and
download options
Thanks
