iis 6 ftp 505 unable to delete files

iis ftp: I have an ftp account on my own server, the user which is allowed to
login has full rights (ntfs) to all files/directories within the ftp,
on the ftp site in iis both read and write are checked. I am able to
create new folders/files within the ftp directories fine but i am
unable to delete or over write any thing, get a 505 error.

I thought it might be the files being locked out by iis as the same
ftp directories are accessible via the web but if i remote desktop
into my box i can delete any of these files/folders through explorer.

At a bit of a loss really, tried removing/re-applying the ntfs
permissions, rebooting etc but to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas?

550 right? not 505. you sure you checked the 'write' permission at the ftp
site property page?

can you try delete the file via ftp.exe connection?
