Local no problem. This is remotely login to ftp server. This ftp server is
behind a router. Whenever download any file that is huge like 20mb when it
almost complete, it will get the error.

so if some ftp client works, but not few. it is not IIS issue then.
what was you using before ? IE ? could be passive mode issue as well.

I try to drag and drop using IE. Passive mode is for firewall ?

passive mode uses different port range that might be blocked by your router,
etc.
If you drag and drop on local lan machine, it works ?

from remote - see if setting it to active mode helps

Mm... so huge file - you tend to get timeout between client and host.
Was the ftp server very busy with lot of connections?

There's nothing to tweak on IIS ftp server, you might want to get network
expert to sniff the packet and find out why.

The actual file i need to transfer is 20mb. 5-6mb files works ok. This is
also a DC. If i change it to active mode it will hang for long time when it
reach around 5 seconds left. But if you say network issue why then using ftp
client works ?
