Virtual Directory Security

Server A W3K server with FTP site. I'm setting up a Virtual Directory
with a UNC to a share on Server B, fo security, do I need to make a
local user account on Server A for FTP access , then add this user to
the Secuity permissions of the share on Server B.

I have a folder in my ftproot:
Z:\Inetpub\ftproot\public\tom
I keep getting access errors trying to ftp to this folder. I have no
problem accessing and writing to public.
I have this folder set exactly the same as public but it still has problems.

I have a site that is currently running IIS 6, and authenticates users
via IIS FTP service using AD authentication. We're planning to
migrate our web authors from IIS/FTP -> some third party SFTP. I know

I wonder whether there is a way to setup an expiration date for files
uploaded to FTP server. Trying to solve the problem that many files are
uploaded to FTP server and have been downloaded but the files are just
remained in the FTP server forever and eventually the hard drive will run out

Hi,
I have an FTP server which works fine.
I can upload files using the windows explorer.
but when I try to upload files using the FTP command line utility the file
is not uploaded.
the size is 0bytes on the server and the utility never finish the upload.

After 3 hours, I've decided that whoever created Windows FTP in
Windows 2003 using IIS 6.0 was drunk.. its the most unusable thing MS
has ever released. Anyways I need help getting this working again.

I work for a small company and we have just moved our FTP site to a Windows
Server 2003 server. We previously ran our FTP site through a Windows Server

I'm already installed the IIs on the server, but it seems not work when i input the WAN ip address on the ftp server, what's the problem? need to configure the router (WAN IP & router provided by ISP) ?

Automated FTP tool?

Hi,
I have a few video files that are continuously generated in a
directory that need to be uploaded by ftp. This directory will have
new files copied into it and old files deleted from it. The automated
ftp needs to monitor files *being* created and upload them ONCE the

Hi there,
How can I send a link such as ftp://24.68.92.125/movie.mpg and when the
receiving party gets the email, I'd like for him to be able to click on it
and have it go into "save as" mode, rather than just play the movie.....
