iis ftp:

hey all, I have a windows 2003 server that only does FTP.

problems is when uploading or downloading large files it falls over?

I can only download or upload for 61 seconds and then it falls over
and u have to start again. You're still logged in fine and can access
all files/folder you have permissions for.

I've checked the internet connection and it seems fine and stable.

at the moment there is no firewall and no other computers conected
just a simple router forwarding on port 21 to this one server.

does any one have any ideas?

Try downloading a large file from the outside using HTTP (a browser) from
the server.

Also, maybe check the time out on the virtual server.

Thanks for the reply.

I can download a 500mb file in 17 minutes via http and my Default web
site time out is 300 seconds.
