I've had a FTP site up for some time and recently I've started getting the
426 error when a client tries to get a file. Here is what shows in my log,

I'm seeing this same error (9 times in 8 weeks), only we're the clients on
this one, so I don't have access to the logs. Here's an example session:
Connected to <IP_ADDRESS>.
220 Microsoft FTP Service
331 Password required for <USERNAME>.
230 User <USERNAME> logged in.
200 Type set to A.
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for <FILENAME>.
426 Connection closed; transfer aborted.
26838 bytes sent in 0.2065 seconds (126.9 Kbytes/s)


We restart the job and it completes normally. I have also looked EVERYWHERE
