iis security : enabling global.asa without FrontPage Extensions

hi,

I'm wondering if we can host websites developed in Visual
Studio 6 that uses global.asa for user settings, without
installing FrontPage Extensions on IIS 5? For security
reasons, we prefer not to run FP extensions on production
web servers, but these websites don't function

ASP (global.asa) and FrontPage Server Extensions are completely unrelated.
What does "don't function correctly" mean? It's hard to figure out the
problem when we have to guess what the symptoms are ...
