iis security:
We just migrated to IIS 6.0, and in our previous
production environment, we had basic authentication
against "\" for authenticating across trusted domains. The
same setting does not work with IIS 6.0. Is there a new
way to authenticate across domains in IIS 6?

I am looking specifically for basic authentication
against "Trusted domains" in IIS 6.0. IIS 5.0 let you
specify "\" as the default domain in basic authentication,
which lets you authenticate against all trusted domains,
but the same setting does not work in IIS 6.0. Would
appreciate any ideas on how to go about it.

Jayashree,

Check out this MS KB article on How to Configure Basic Authentication:

Check out this MS KB article on How to Configure differnet authentications:

Cheers !

Ok,
To answer my own question, turns out that the feature is no longer
available in IIS 6; and perhaps will be made re-available in Windows
2003 SP1 which should be out sometime next year.
