Message from Microsoft Raul Gates

iis security: I have been receiving three times a day for the last two
weeks an email from security@microsoft.com with an
attachment called ATT00005.txt (59B) with a subject that
says "use this patch immediately !" and a text that says:

"Dear friend , use this Internet Explorer patch now!
There are dangerous virus in the Internet now!
More than 500.000 already infected!"

1.Is it really from Microsoft?
2.Should I open the attachment?
3.What should I do to stop that incoming email?
4.WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Thanks

Microsoft never *ever* send security fixes/patches by email - that should
tell you all you need to know. ;-)

Do you really think Microsoft is personally emailing you with poor
grammar and calling you "Dear Friend"...?

If you have to ask, the answer is always no.

Block it in your SPAM filter, delete it when you receive it or change
email accounts.

You did one thing right, you asked first. But never open any
unsolicited attachment, and all Microsoft security infomation is
available on their web site to check.
