iis security : How to control SSL

I obtained a test certificate on the Internet and
successfully registered it on my root website under IIS.
My problem is that I have 4 subwebs and really only want
to test SSL on two of them and not the root at all.

I cannot even access the root however unless I use
https://localhost. How can you get around this?

I have good vb code for accessing an .inc file on the
subwebs to force https, but how can I get around it on all
the others? I know the certificate has to be registered at
the root.

Any help would sure be appreciated.

Open the IIS Manager, right click the site, click Properties, go to the
"Document Security" tab. Under Secure communications click Edit and uncheck
"Require secure channel"

You don't need to worry about the cert being applied to other sites, it
won't interfere at all
